Your Guide to Creating the Best Ultimate Team !

SQUAD BATTLES!

Squad Battles are a full game against other gamers' teams controlled by the computer. And yes if you have played more than 5 games you have already turned off Snoop Dogg's 2nd period commentary. Does anyone else hope that when they ask him to stay for the entire period he turns back and say no and just leaves?

Click here to bring me straight to the quicktips!.

A list of 4 teams are put together for you to play daily, and twice a day on weekends.

Usually one team is very bad, one is just better than that, and the other two range from ok to very good. The better the team, the more synergies the team will have. At each level you will be able to choose a difficulty to play. The harder the difficulty the more points you are awarded.

Generally for winning, and maxing out your stats (we will get to that in a minute), you will receive the following points and coins give or take 50.

Rookie - No idea, never played on rookie and nor should you.
Semi Pro - 800 points and 750 coins.
Pro - 1000 points and 850 or so coins.
All Star - 1600 points and 1050 coins
Superstar - 2150 points - unsure about coin but i cannot imagine much more than 1200 or so.

Points and coins will change based on certain stats you have during the game.

To max out the points/coins, you will need the following:

  1. 5 Goals Scored
  2. +5 Goal Difference
  3. 20 Shots
  4. Win

Winning is the most important stat. It will get you the most points. So, as a general rule of thumb you should only play at your level. If you know you cannot defeat superstar then do not play it. Not worth the coins you will not win from losing a game. Point are multiplied at a higher number the high level difficulty you play, so keep that in mind as well.

EASY COIN AND POINTS TRICK
Want to get in as many games as possible but don't want to sit at your controller the entire time? Play a game, set to semi pro, and play at least 1 period. Try to get your 5 goals and 20 shots then or as close as you can get without being bored. Then, walk away and put the controller down, only coming back to bypass the period intermissions. Go take a shower, cook dinner, ect. The AI will never catch up and may score 1 goal, though certainly not definite. This way you can refresh your opponents getting the most coins/points possible.

REFRESH OPPONENT TIP
If you are like me and don't have time to play 4 games a day everyday, always refresh your opponents before 5pm. You will get 4 new opponents and have another day to play all 4 of them with a refresh if you have time.

On weekends, opponents refresh at 5pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday and at 6am on Saturday and Sunday morning.

REWARDS
Rewards are based on Squad Battle games started after 5pm on Thursday and go all the way until the following Thursday at 5pm. The game must be finished before 5pm on Thursday to get credit. So, do not play any games at 4:45pm on Thursday.

24 hours later you will get your rewards. A few packs and coins. Randomly during the year player cards are given out too. You can always check the weekly rewards while viewing the standings.

Obviously the more SB points you get weekly the higher on the standings you will be and the better rewards. Don't expect to finish in Elite 2 or higher without having played 30 games or more a week. If you do not play on All Star level then do not expect Elite 1 at all. And unless you ONLY play NHL you won't be getting that Elite 1 level or higher anyway.

My advice is always play 1 game min a week to get some sort of reward, even if its a terrible pack. You can literally pull a player from ANY pack so don't underestimate a lesser chanced pack.

ALL REWARDS ARE TRADABLE PACKS. Unlike Rivals which gives you the option to choose UT, any packs you win in Squad Battles rewards will be tradable. If you also get a player card that may or may not be tradable.

NOTE: Do not every autosell your rewards. Whatever the autosale value is, you will always get more coin when putting on the market.

AUCTION TIP
Since these rewards come out Friday, the best time to get cards for cheap on the auction house is generally Friday at 5pm to 7 or 8pm. I have seen gold players going for 500. I have even grabbed a guy for 5K which I immediately sold for 40K.

QUICKTIPS

  1. Know yourself. Wins on a lower difficulty will get you more coins than losing to a team on a higher difficulty.
  2. You can only refresh opponents once a day on weekdays at twice a day on weekends. If you know you will not get through the opponents before the daily reset, refresh them anyway.
  3. Max ammount of games per week is 37 games including team of the week.
  4. You should almost vever spend 500 coins to replay. Absolutely pointless. Only time you should is if you are competing for a top spot in the weekly ranking and getting more SB points will put you up to a higher level.
  5. Never quit games. At worst, put controller down and let time run out. You will not get anything for quitting execept every player will lose 1 contract.
  6. Max out levels for each stat per game: 5 Goal, 5 goal difference, 20 Shots.
  7. Weekly rewards are given based on how week is finished by all gamers and tiered based on points. Just because you were Elite 1 on Monday does not mean you will finish there.
  8. Rewards are weekly. Each week ends Thursday at reset, and rewards are given 24 hours later at Friday's reset.
  9. Rewards are only tradable. Never autosell either.
