HUT Rivals HUT Rivals is a divison ranked online mode, which pits players against each other based on skill of play and divison. Each week, rankings based on point system determine rewards. After each contest, points are determined based on goals and outcome of the game. Getting 5 goals or more and winning in regulation is the best result, awarding 950 points. Each and every goal count until 5, awarding more points per goal. Losing in regulation with no goals awards you 150 points. And each regulation win is 500 points. Going to overtime awards less points to the winner and more to the loser. To start, you will be given 5 play in games to determine you skill and what divison to place you. The lower the number, the better the competition. This is all based on wins and not your overall team so be fore warned, you will face off against higher level players when you start out. You will also be given Champions Season Points. These are used for entry into the Champions Season after accumulating 2000 points. This will be explained in more detail in our Champions Season Page here. Winning gets you more points, and the higher divison you are the more points you receive per match. Rewards Rewards in Rivals are the most important part of the strategy of building a better team. They're more important than the games you play even. There are 5 rewards levels. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platnium and Diamond. You will get Bronze by playing 1 game. Within 3 or 4 games you should have enough points to get to Gold level which is where the real prizes begin. If you're going to play this and try to build a better team, aim for Gold each week. Not too many games and rewards are worth it. I have noticed it has not been terribly difficult to get into the highest level rewards group. Just requires grinding games out weekly. I've noticed if you win a few games with 4 or 5 goals a week, you'll assure yourself platinum or diamond. Now, onto choosing rewards. Yes! You can choose your rewards if you make it to gold or higher. You are given 3 choices. First is 2 pack, both tradable. The second choice is those same 2 packs, only doubled, but UNTRADABLE. The third is a coin value that I do not recommend ever taking. The choice is yours. Neither is wrong. However, I always choose and recommend you too choose the untradable. It will double your chances at a top player, and if you do not get a player, you should get close to enough gold cards to build either an icon or gold collectible. So the players will not go to waste. I will get into this more later but its always much better odds to build your players through collectibles than hoping to get a big pull on a pack. There is one risk, you geting a top player and already having it. I pulled my first silver icon from a Rivals UT rewards, a 91 Wayne Gretzky, after having just built him using Icon collectibles. The vulgar words that left my mouth that day were not to be heard by anyone. But you get the point. NOTE: Most of the time, Diamond and Platinum come with additional Champions Season points. Knowing what rewards to choose will go a long way into building that 95+ overall team. |
