Chris Goodrich, the owner of Goody Hockey, has been a hockey player all his life. He is currently the Assistant Hockey Director at Iceland Skating Rink (New Hyde Park, NY), and the Director of the Long Island Sharks/IceCat Player Development Program. Chris also has the distinction of being the head coach for the Long Island Sharks/IceCat Mites and Squirts. One of his earliest hockey roles was being a former Hofstra University Hockey Team captain.   Chris was trained under the guidance of the following people:
  • Barbara Williams (the first female skating coach in the National Hockey League and a 2011 inductee into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame)
  • Lou Lamoriello (a former General Manager for the New Jersey Devils and the Toronto Maple Leafs, a 2009 inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and a 2012 inductee into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame)
  • Brian Burke (the Executive Director of the Professional Women’s Hockey League Players’ Association, a former general manager of the Hartford Whalers, Vancouver Canucks, 2007 Stanley Cup champions Anaheim Ducks, and the Toronto Maple Leafs, and a 2019 inductee into the Rhode Island Hockey Hall of Fame)
  • Ron Wilson (former coach of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Washington Capitals, San Jose Sharks, and Toronto Maple Leafs, former head coach of the United States Men’s National Ice Hockey team at the 1998 and 2010 Winter Olympics, and a 2017 inductee into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame)
Chris has coached, taught, and trained hundreds of students over the years. In that time, he watched some of his students go from Squirts to College.  At Goody Hockey, we believe that being a good skater is the foundation for being a good hockey player. However, there is more to it than that. To be considered as such, a good hockey player also needs to be in control of their speed and balance. These are traits young students will learn when they sign up for clinics by Goody Hockey. Whether it is private lessons, skills clinics, hockey camp, or league play, Chris and Goody Hockey can help improve your game and challenge your goals.   Be ready for the Goody Hockey challenge – the rink awaits you!
